Employers:  Know your rights and obligations surrounding termination and redundancy

Tuesday, December 6th 2016

9.30am –  12.30pm

at the

Manjimup Community Resource Centre

Terminating an employee’s position or making a position redundant is the catalyst for many claims to both federal and state legislative commissions and therefore these two activities pose great risk to a business or organisation.  In most of the cases that Workwise Advisory Services has assisted with, it is a lack of knowledge around the processes of poor performance management, terminating an employee’s tenure and making positions redundant that have been at the root cause of an employer’s requirement to defend their position and actions in commission hearings.

If you have reason to believe that your understanding of the processes surrounding termination and redundancy is in need of an update, then this is the presentation you need to be at!

We will cover major aspects of termination and redundancy in the workplace including current legislation governing aspects of unfair and unlawful terminations in the presention on Tuesday the 6th.

The workshop defines what a ‘redundancy’ is (and is not) and the processes required for managing them effectively, along with what, how and why of terminating a worker’s employment.  We will discuss recent Case History and how it may be applied to your workplace.  The presentation explores the do’s and don’ts that all managerial staff should be aware of when managing these processes.
