From 1 January 2013, there will be a new entitlement to ‘Dad and Partner Pay’.
This is up to 2 weeks at the National Minimum Wage for working dads or partners (including same-sex partners).
These payments will be made by the Government directly into the employees bank account once their claim has been finalised.
Claims for Dad and Partner Pay can be made from 1 October 2012 for babies born or adopted on or after 1 January 2013.
